The part of the body which is in direct contact with the surface of the ground is very sensitive to vibration, thus a snake is able to sense other animals approaching through detecting faint vibrations in the air and on the ground

Hi smohpal, No I don't think they can hear. I have owned many boe constrictors and I bought some book's when I got my first boe. Their tongue is their way of navigating in the environment around them. There tongue is very sensitive towards vibration and some what just like a dog they use there tongue to determine what is food and water and foe. Thank you for your question.
