What is your opinion of Arranged Marriages

How familiar are you with Arranged marriages and what is your opinion of it? If you think love marriages are the way to go, tell me why do you think its better than Arranged Marriages? Or do you feel the way I do, that modified version of arranged marriages could work.

I was married arranged but there are lot many things considered in arrange marrige and we are living happy life past 21 years together.
Love is blind and just 50% of love marriages are successful but most break up as in longer term they do not consider other practical aspect of life which is most important.

stupid old school way of thinking. if parents are that desperate to control and even ruin your childs life, then theres probably easier ways to do it. but to be so selfish that u make ur kids marry someone they probally wont even like, is the most selfish thing anyone can do. if u dont let ur kids go out and eplore the world and make there own decisions, and mistakes, then ur child is just going to resent u, there "husband/wife", and probably the world. theyll go through life without know how to control there ...

I think that arraigned marriages have the potential to work out very well. However i think it has to be a bit of a cultural thing to.
I've grown up in a way that i'd not want anything other than a love marriage.

i do not think arranged marriages could work their is too many pretty ethnic minorities to choose from and we are now living in a young people;s world

modified, arranged marriages could work if the so called bride and groom are bothe willing , but from what i have seen it is mostly in the parents best interest, i feel that the daughter should have just as many rights and privalleges as the son,
