Obviously the ability to choose the best product, the most effective marketing and so on is not easy if you have never done it before, in which case i´d say two things:

A) there´s plenty of info on the net, freely available, but you´ll have to do a lot of research and pick the right bits of info.

B) you can choose to get some training on the subject. There is plenty of info products out there that are firt tier and no tmuch more than a filter to more intensive (and expensive) programs. look for them.

The main way to get a higher reward is to take more risks. I would always be very cautious about any scheme that promised high rewards for low risks.

Firstly, there's no such thing as a "quick buck". In an efficient market economy, providers of capital get rewarded according to how much risk they take. The main way to get a higher reward is to take more risks. I would always be very cautious about any scheme that promised high rewards for low risks.

Stick the money in a bank and you might have $52,500 after a year. Stick it in the stock market and you might get $55,000 +/- $10,000 after a year. Invest in the Brazilian stock market and you might get anything from $1,000 to $150,000 back! In all these cases, the higher rewards are ontained solely from taking on higher risks.

There are some exceptions to this. Certain businesses can make "super-profits" - returns that are more than their risk justifies. The most common way they do that, in my experience, is through some form of monopolistic exploitation. Supermarkets do this by squeezing suppliers; mobile phone companies rip off their consumers; clothes manufacturers exploit third world workers. Of course, none of that is possible with a paltry $50,000!

A second way to increase returns is by identifying and then exploiting genuine market inefficiencies. You need to really understand what's going on here, because it's easy to fool yourself here. But various "arbitrage" opportunities do exist where goods are more expensive in one place compared to another and the differential is more than the cost of transport. The "place" can include geographical place, time, or currency. The "transport cost" can be literal, holding costs or translation costs.

A classic example is buying cars in Germany and then selling them in Britain, or buying iPods in New York and selling in London. Another example is buying crude oil at spot rate, putting it into storage and then selling it in a month's time. The profit can be locked in today with a future contract. However, my personal favorite at the moment is investing in New Zealand Corporate Bonds - the interest rates (and hence returns) are being kept artificially high by the high commodity prices fueling inflation in Australasia. As long as you hold for at least a year, the risks of currency devaluation outweigh the higher returns you get.

The third way to increase returns - and probably the best way - is to combine the money with another resource which would otherwise be wasted. The best thing here is labour, but it could also be a natural resource. Using the money to pay fund a bright poor kid to go to college could give you substantial returns, particularly if he ends up as a corporate lawyer. Dividing the spoils is the hardest thing - who should get the profit - the provider of finance or the provider of labour? Likewise, if you happen to own a gold mine on your property, you could make money by extracting it and selling it on.

So, to summarise, rewards come mostly from assuming risk, but also from exploitation, market inefficiencies, and by unlocking resources such as labour.
