i think i have a slight obsession with food, im one of those people who get bored and then eat,or eat when im not even hungy, cause its a habit!!!!

Though in no way am i fat, i way like 7.10 or something, but im sure its only because i do ALOT of dancing... but i was just wondering if anybody had any advice on how i cant stop this annoying habit.

Its hard to answer this but from a health perspective they say you should eat 6 small meals a day along with 3-4 days of exercise 1hour a day. I am going to say if you eat alot of junk then substitute it with healthy foods like protein bars, fruits, nuts, vegetables and yogurt. Kill the carbs and you will be fine because you wont be grabbing for anything in sight because you will be full from the six meals. well i find myself doing the same thing alot. well what you do is you eat 3 meals a day. and when you find ourself witht he erge of going to the fridge you eat some gum. so you can still have the same motion in eating but you really arnt so therefore you wont get fat from having that silly habbit of yours

Okay, so i struggled with the same problem. I suggest eating small meals throughout the day, but lets get real. Who is going to do that? I first started out fixing this problem by asking myself every time i got "hungry" if i was REALLY hungry. If i was, I ate, if i wasnt, i got water or gatorade (any energy drink or milk product will suffice) I then made more serious gestures after i got comfortable with the other routine. I had the same thing when I was a kid...i would just find something to do when i wanted to eat and it helped me to stop eatting when I got bored and then i would stuff my face till i was stuffed and meals and then later i wouldnt want to eat

The majority of the human race over-eat due to stress. You need to deal with whatever issues you are trying to suppress with food. Over-eating is as bad a habbit as smoking. It is impossible for someone to just STOP eating, however. You have to eat your 3 to 6 small meals a day and keep a food diary. Pay attention to the times that you are eating and how you are feeling during that time. Lots of people find that they are "stressing" over something and they try to nurse that "wound" with food.

You should start making a list of things before you go to bed which you could do next day to keep yourself occupied.

Not of mondo things, just things you could do to pass time. That way, during the day, you can clean the apartment or something intresting to keep you occupied not to worry about your stomach, or to be bored enough to start snacking.
