They can only be bleached back to this, and the shades can vary quite a bit - so its a good treatment if your teeth are stained BUT they will become stained again if you continue doing the things that stained them (drinking coffee, smoking etc).

A step up from that is having veneers (which I have had done), effectively replacing the enamel with porcelain. The benefita of this are the porcelain is more resistant to future staining, if the natural colour was darker you can choose a brighter white and that other elements of your smile (gaps etc) can be rectified

There are two main methods of whitening teeth. The first process involves applying a high concentration of oxidizing agent for only a short period of time. The process is usually carried out at a dentists because of this risk. The procedure can often achieve between four to six shades of whitening after only one 40 minute treatment. Cost can vary between $300 and $1000.

The second method involves using a much lower concentration of the oxidizing agent. This is an at-home teeth whitening procedure and is usually more popular because it is less expensive and more convenient than the first process. Costs for these type of products are rarely more than about $35. The agent is held against the teeth using a mouth guard for several hours each day over a period of anything between 5 and 14 days. If you are going to be using the method than you should follow the treatment instructions carefully. If none of these methods work, there is always cosmetic surgery. I definetly DO NOT recommend this route unless you have very serious teeth problems.

That's very unlikely but I'm just saying...

And if you do have sensitive teeth than try ZOOM whitening.. I got it done by my dentist and it's basically just sitting in a chair with special gel on your teeth and they shine a special light on it and your teeth come out a lot whiter!!! ZOOM allows you to get immediate results, but is more costly than just using white strips. Also, your dentist provides you with retainer-like trays and extra ZOOM gel in case you want to touch it up later on... The only thing about ZOOM is that there's always a chance they will get stained again, which would be a waste of money so if you want white teeth ...just make sure you can maintain them!

i've tried many different things but they are all just temporary. so i try to schedule more dentist appointments and brush my teeth after every meal. i also brush at night and in the morning.

Yes there are varouis ways of whitening teeth but I have found that Baking Soda and peroxide is the best. Arm& Hammer Advanced white toothpaste is the best you see results the fastest. Take my advice and try it. It's like $3.00 at your local Dollar Store.
