bored at work

I work a job where I am cashier and I have to stay up front so when people come in I can greet them. Well I work at a newer store and it is winter so we have been really slow and I get bored. I clean my area and sweep but after I am done there is nothing left and I get so bored which makes my time go by way too slow any recommendations on what I can do to stay busy and not get in trouble for just standing around?
